Changing your eating habits can really affect your mood.

I remember while in college I ate awful. Fast food everyday, loaded up on carbs when I would cook. I ate heavily processed foods, and you know what I would end up doing? Sleeping. Always having low energy and I always wondered why. I took naps close to every day. I was irritated frequently and didn’t know how to articulate my feelings correctly. I never knew what it was until after coming back home after graduation. I had to change the way I was eating around because I had to lose weight and get my life together.

If I kept eating the way I was eating I would have ended up with diabetes as stated by my doctor. That was a reality check for me. It forced me to want to change.

I had lost myself. I let myself go while in college. I no longer recognized who I was and in part it was because of the foods I ate. They kept my mood low, kept adding on the pounds, kept not adding to my happiness.

I share my experiences with you because I hope that if you’re headed in the same direction I was that you take control and go in a different direction because it’s not worth it. I changed my life, I started eating more fruits and veggies. I incorporate them into almost all of my meals. I season my food in a particular way. I use specific products because now I am prioritizing me, my health. I am gaining back control of my life. Changing your diet can instantly improve your mood. If you are going through mood swings or are feeling depressed, sluggish, anxious try adding more color, adding more fruits, vegetables, whole foods to your diet. I promise you it will make a world of a difference.
